Torque Release Technique
What is the Torque Release Approach
of Chiropractic?
How Does Chiropractic Work?
Chiropractic is based on four undisputed scientific facts:
1. The nervous system (brain, spinal cord, and nerves) control every cell and organ in your body.
2. Any type of pressure or tension on the nervous system will cause poor function, symptoms, and illness because it will interfere with message going from the brain to that organ. For example, nerve pressure on the nerves to the liver could eventually result in liver problems.
3. Physical, chemical, and mental trauma can cause the spine to misalign and put damaging stress and tension on the nervous system.
4. Chiropractic care corrects these spinal misalignments, reduces the tension on the nerves, and allows your body to heal naturally from the inside out.
Our goal as Doctors of Chiropractic is to maintain the integrity of your spine and nervous system, so that you can reach an optimal level of health and express your God given potential.
What is Torque Release Technique
Torque Release Technique is a “tonal” technique because it uses gentle adjustments to normalize the tone of the nervous system. If your nervous system had a volume control, increased tone would mean internal organ stress, musculoskeletal stress and diminished immune response. Decreased tone would mean the nervous system is not sending enough messages to the body to get the job done. This technique uses a non-manipulative adjustment which teaches and empowers your body to correct and heal itself.
The adjustment is primarily performed with an FDA approved instrument called the Integrator. The Integrator makes specific adjustments to vital areas of your spine and nervous system. These adjustments reduce stress and interference to the nervous system, and allow the body to function at an optimal level and heal.
Torque Release Technique allows adjustments to be performed without the “cracking or popping” of the spine. This technique was developed through research, and it has been featured in peer reviewed medical journals.
What Types of Conditions Does Torque
Release Help With?
We have seen many types of conditions and problems improve with Torque Release. Some of these are the following:
· headaches (migraine, tension, & sinus)
· digestive problems (heartburn, GERD, irritable bowel syndrome)
· menstrual problems
· sciatica, arm & leg pain, numbness and tingling
· depression & anxiety
· sleep problems
· low energy & fatigue
· ear infections
· immune system problems.
While we do see amazing results with this technique, it is important to emphasize that we do not treat any of these conditions. We treat the person with the condition, and that allows the person to heal. Many people come in with their family to prevent health problems and raise their level of wellness.
What Should I Expect?
On your first visit we will take a detailed history of your problem, which will help us to determine the best course of examination to find the cause of your problem. The examination usually includes a two part computerized nerve and muscle stress test, palpation, range of motion, postural evaluation, and x-rays. Depending on the severity of your case, we may also include other neurological and orthopedic tests.
We then will go over the results of the examination and give you our best recommendations for correcting the problem. These recommendations may include adjustments, massage, postural exercises & stretches, core muscle strengthening, nutritional advice, and other lifestyle modifications.
Does the Adjustment Hurt?
The adjustment is very gentle and does not cause any pain. We adjust everybody from newborns up to people in their 90’s. During the adjustment, you will be lying comfortably on table. Dr. Slossberg will be checking for spinal alignment and nerve tension by looking at certain reflexes and patterns in your body. The reflexes are checked by stimulating your nervous system with light taps in specific areas, and then evaluating the response by looking at the changes in your feet. The adjustment will then be made with the Integrator instrument.
